Helpston Village Hall
Helpston Village Hall is a thriving venue for a mix of organisations who meet there on a regular basis. Originally a WW1 accommodation hut for the Canadian military the wooden building was a leftover from The Great War and found its way to Helpston. One or two residents still remember the building being delivered one summers day on horse and cart and helping to unload it to its current resting place.
The Hall is regularly used by local organisations as varied as the Luncheon Club to the Indoor Bowls Club as well as the many one-off events which take place such as children's parties, anniversaries and birthdays. In addition, the Hall is used as a venue for The John Clare Festival, which takes place each year on the closest Saturday to the Poet's birthday of 13th July.

The hall is managed by a committee of volunteers who meet bi-monthly in the hall to discuss its day to day running and maintenance. Each organisation in the village is represented, from the Tennis Club to the WI, and over a cup of tea we are all afforded the opportunity to put forward the views of our organisations as to how the hall is managed.
