Botolph's Barn - Education Policy

The Botolph's Barn project has as one of its aims:

The creation of a new heritage and educational facility for the community and a location for a permanent interpretive exhibition about the life and works of the poet John Clare, who was born in the village and whose works celebrate the local natural environment.

The Barn's education policy is based on the objective of fulfilling this aim. The Barn's educational potential will centre on a permanent exhibition of display boards on the ground floor of the building and on information contained in the Barn website. The Barn Committee will have as one of its aims the promotion of the educational value of this material and the development of links with local schools and community organisations.

The exhibition will be open to the public in accordance with the Barn's access policy.

The exhibition and website will concentrate on four main themes:

In dealing with these themes, the exhibition and website will seek both to impart information about the past and to raise awareness of contemporary issues.
